Altiris 6
Hi, we are using Altiris for software deployment.
I have ben unable to find any Altiris documentation regarding the "best practice" for uninstalling applications previously deployed via Altiris.
At the moment we use the standard msiexec /x "Altiris guid" command line to achieve the removal of the application.
Does anyone know of any other methods for uninstalling applications via Altiris?
P.S. I have searched the Altiris forums for this information without success.

Hi Mate,
We use altiris quite heavily for both installation and removal of applications.
I prefer to try and remove applications (as well as install) using a script (Run Script). What type of script used will be determined by whether or not the applicaiton uses MSI or setup.exe or calls some other custom component. Then if you need to clean up areas of the uninstall you can include this in the script also i.e. file deleciton m directory deletion, registry etc
I just take the product I want to uninstall, search the web for uninstall info and also there Support page on the web. Then get all the info together and test, test, test. Rearch on the product and testing are the two keys. Most software can be uninstalled with a script somehow.
Cheers!
