Advertise Install
hello Folks,
i have aproblem with advertise install. App i am working on is ThinkVantagefingerprint Software 5.6
I have checked all the feature attributes to favour local and favour advertise.
but still the applicationa is not being installed. it only creates an shortcut at addremove programs. The files are not being installed,
the applicationa is working fine with machine install.
i am tried using the following commands

Got it working folks,
syntax
msiexec -jm <msi> -t <mst>
I thought itwas working fine but it came back.
now that it installs. It has new problem.
After we click on the short cut it installs and after that
it pops up an error message
"the application has failed to start because the application configuration is in correct. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.'
can anyone suggest on this error.
Thanqs
Ram.

ORIGINAL: RamRam, you need to do some more reading, I'm afraid. Advertising does exactly that - it advertises to the machine/user that an application is available for installation and does NOT install that application. The installation will occur when the user double-clicks on an advertised shortcut, or loads a file whose extension has an advertised entry-point. Suggested reading:
I also checked what features it is installing. It is only installing one feature.
I double checked it i made all feature enabled for advertised install. Is there anything I am missing here.
Is there anything I can do to force install the features.

A search of AppDeploy will turn plenty up, too.
