Adding permissions and rights to MSI's


Hi all,

I'm quite new to packaging(But learning fast) and i need help in adding permissions to files, folders and registry keys to msi's. I know it has to do with custom actions, but i just need a bit of pointers b4 i mess things up.

Any ideas will be useful.

First try searching the forum for secedit & setacl, you'll find alot of info on how to do this.

Do NOT use the LockPermission table to set permissions, this will overwrite any inherited permissions.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
