Has anyone patched their K1 yet (kbox_patch_5.3_64-bit_samba.kbin)? I'm just curious if I need to schedule downtime.

Ok call me crazy, but it is there. Just checked again.

In our environment we need to schedule downtime if needed. Since there are no release notes with the patch I was curious. I would assume at least one reboot would need to occur. It is a small patch so it shouldn't take too long. I thought I would ask here before contacting support.

  • It was not available for me until this morning; certainly not since the 18th. It may be they are only releasing it to certain customers, or that there was an issue with the support site.

It still does not have release notes; they may be rushing it as a security issue.
  • Well do me a favor and run it, and tell me if it causes a reboot? LOL
  • ^ Nice. Seriously, someone run it and let us know what happens.
  • No reboot.

I was not aware the patch had become available yet; the news page still states it is pending.

Thanks guys!  Samba patch installed in seconds, same log entries that philologist posted.  No reboot required.  Also running 5.3.53053 here.
