WO3mOv.jpegThe BarKode solution for KACE has a great track record for enabling the Asset management life-cycle within customers K1000. The ability to easily create, update and manage Asset records means that working practices or processes can now be documented and followed, quickly and simply, with the data associated captured and recorded within the K1000 Asset database.

For some time now customers have been asking if they are able to "Doublescan" data to enter it into KACE. This functionality could be used for things like scanning in preset location codes, but more importantly, for assets that are not agent managed this is a great way to get data entered without the techs thumbs getting in the way!

For example, with BarKode you now have the ability to create an Asset Type of iPhone, to assign an Asset number to the device, but then potentially to scan the IMEI number and Serial number straight from the iphone box into the asset record using the BarKode UI.

Having this functionality would mean that all types of Assets with barcode serial numbers or product codes can have this data entered at the point of goods receipt, providing a much more comprehensive and efficient goods in process.

Any field that is a text field can be double scanned and on the BarKode UI shows an arrow with the text "Value" on the left hand side of the field, as in the following image:

Dragging the field to the left within the UI will then expose the Double scan button, clicking on the button will start the camera scan functionality ready to scan the value into the Asset record

The latest release of BarKode for Dell KACE, available on the appstore or Playstore now includes Doublescan  functionality.
