- Download the small ~500K file from Yahoo's site
- Open up %LOCALAPPDATA%\temp and sort by datestamp
- Run the small 500K file, select custom install, untick all the extra options and icons
- Accept licensing
- Keep an eye on your temp folders, mine was a weird blahblah.tmp folder, open it up and open an image to confirm its the Yahoo folder, sort by filesize
- Once install is clicked, it will start downloading the offline installer file
- Once the installer is actually Installing, you should see approx 17Mb file in there named "ymsgr_inst.exe" quickly copy that out to the desktop
- Once the installer finishes, it will remove the temp directory
- Uninstall the app from Control Panel \ Add / Remove
- Try using the ymsgr_inst.exe from the command prompt
ymsgr_inst.exe /S << Silent Install
