This note is about deploying Microsoft Office 2003 Resource Kit via Active Directory GPO Software Distribution.

Download the Office 2003 resource kit from the below link:

Make sure that in your profile your %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Temp directory is empty.

You can now start the executable ORK.EXE. Do not execute anything just browse via the explorer to the above specified directory. There you can find the files you need to use for deployment (ork.msi). Copy all those files to your sharepoint / unc file location. Edit the ORK.MSI with ORCA and change the table AdvtExecuteSequence to match the following values:

Note

Something we did to lighten the load in an enterprise, is remove extra's like InfoPath and Publisher from Office 2k3 distro using the ORK.

If a user requests Publisher or InfoPatch, we have seperate distro's that run MAINTWIZ.EXE and add those components into the existing Office 2003 Installation. Great tool to pick and choose who gets what. Just a suggestion.
