Sorry folks, my method does not work after all...
I was able to install the software on about 6 machines using the Activation Key that I copied from my initial install and they are all still fully functional, however any new installs do not work. I get an error about a corrupted license key. After a quick call to ACL I was informed that this key is tied to some sort of hard-drive identifier that is supposedly unique to each system (although that does not explain why I have 6 systems running just fine using the same key!!!). The ACL rep said that if I could provide the HDD ID # for each machine I planned to install the software on they could pre-generate activation keys (LOL!).
I complained that this was a ridiculous licensing model and that it would have made more sense to have the activation run the first time the app was launched rather than during the install but I don't think he was too concerned about my opinion.
