XP SP3 plus

I have been asked to look into the possibility of combining Windows XP SP3 with all other patches to date (sort of a Super SP3). We have not yet rolled SP3 into our production environment due to application compatibility (financial industry, lots of legacy stuff).

Does anyone have any experience or insight into how this could be accomplished? The main concern is that we have continued to roll out patches via SMS, but when we install SP3 it will actually undo some patches that will need to be re-applied otherwise. We are trying to avoid having to re-patch after SP3 is rolled out.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Paul

We are doing something similar right now too. Have sp3'd about 2000 of 10000 desktops

I'd recommend simply filtering the existing sms patch packages to not apply to the sp3 platform.

Cheers,
Rob.
