  • The IP information is given when the machine does its internal check in. If a machine is offline for awhile and it's IP address is released, then you could see duplicates. One for the active and one for the offline with the same IP address. Once the offline machines comes online it will get a new IP address and the Inventory will be updated as soon as it checks in.

I have seen this quite often after a new agent is available.  Some machines get messed up in the upgrade and fail to check in perhaps.  Then another machine picks up the IP causing the green light to show up on the old machine that fails the upgrade.

Long story short, I simply ping the machine by name to get the new IP and send the machine an uninstall agent provisioning, then push the install again.  This works most of the time, other times I have to delete the inventory files on the machine to get a cleaner install.
