wise script editor
Hi,
Does anyone know of any good Wise Script editor tutorials? Or any other tool that does the same job that I could learn?
I know VBScript quite well but have just learned that this can't be used at my current place of work.

There are some decent sample scripts that come with the app installed to ..\WiseScript Editor\Samples
they are probably a good start to give you a feel for it.
other than that the altiris knowledge base and forums are useful.

I've seen this kind of dictat before. It's likely that whoever was responsible for that decree wasn't - and still isn't - aware of the possibilities that other script types offer. As to why, I suspect that the OP's build/policy/AV solution has VBSs disallowed from execution.

I'm guessing the use of digitally signed / encrypted vbscripts has not been considered at your site??
Also, take a look at http://www.myitforum.com and look for Rod Trent who's been doing wizzy stuff with SMS Installer (predecessor to the current Wise Script) for many years.
