P.S. It comes after first log on of a new user. I assume it is a registry setting but nothing shows up using Installrite or regmon.

I am using Installshield 11.5.

InterVideo WinDvd 5.0. It will come up until you tic the "Do not show again" box and then press cancel. What disable option are you referring to? Never heard of Procmon, is it similar to Regmon and FileMon and where can I get it? Thanks

ProcMon seems an extended version of the mix of FileMon and RegMon :)
Get it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/processmonitor.mspx
I meant the disable option of that box/screen.

Edit: have you repackaged? does it comes as msi ?
PD: I can't find it to download and try on the web...
!! Repackage the change with RegView!! step 1 before launching the app, step2 after closing the app after disabling the screen/box

Sorry Kris, had a meeting to go to! Spoke too soon about that fix too, it seemed to work but hasn't! I am going to try RegView now and will post back the result, promise[;)]

The RegView just retrieved the same Reg entries as RegMon which when added do not work.

If I run the application as an Admin first and then log in as a user and run it, the pop-up does not show for the user. From this I would have expected the problem to be a reg entry however the registry being captured below does not seem to change anything.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\WinDVD4]
"ACTIVEDRIVE"=""

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\WinDVD4]
"SERVER"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\WinDVD4]
"SERVERPLAY"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\WinDVD4]
"CLIENTPLAY"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\WinDVD4]
"COLORPRESET"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\WinDVD4]
"ColorPreset_4"="0,0,0,0,0"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\WinDVD4\Oem]
"SHOWWARNING"=dword:00000000

There are no file changes either. Anyone any idea's?

The last key seems to be what you was looking for... ShowWarning --> 0
Have you tried to apply this key by a custom action in deferred mode, as it was the last action?
It should be generated for each user, so should be executed (the CA) with the Not Remove="all" condition.
has this app got any ini file?

No luck, I have tried messing with that key but no go (changing value and entering it manually). There is no INI file in the application either. I have been told to just let it out as is because of time constraints. Users should be able to handle that :)
