I was wondering if you would be able to help me. Im working on a deployment of WMDC 6.1 through deployment server similar to SCCM and appdeploy KB provided instructions on how to correct issue where Deployment Server was failing with installing WMDC. Im familar with orca but im not familar with replacing contents of binary table. How do you accomplish that? Do you have to get the dll in the MSI before readding lines back to the binary table? and which dll would you use from Win7DD6 amd64, ia64 or x86. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

To replace the DIFxApp.dll , follow the below instrcutions:

1. open the msi package in Orca

2. goto the Binary table

3. delete the DIFxApp.dll and DIFxAppA.dll row

4. get the latest version of those two files from Win7DDK , installshield or WiX or any other source

5. add the two rows again with the new files. if you are using 32 bit msi, then add x86 version of dll's.  6. if you are using 64 bit version of msi, then add x64 version of dll's.

7. you cannot have the x86 ad x64 version in a single package. 8. save the msi and close Orca

7. done, now it should install without any problems
