Windows Media Player 9 Start Menu -> Programs shortcut

Hi

i'm in the process of deploying windows media player 9 to our enterprise and i'm currently utilizing the enterprise deployment pack.
However i notice that it always creates a start menu -> programs shortcut

is there a way to prevent this?

thanks

OK, just had a look at my old WMP9 package and the shortcut creation is controlled via a policy registry key, so it can be controlled via a GPO, or by added the following key into your WMP9 EDP msi package.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsMediaPlayer\DesktopShortcut = "no" / "yes"

I'm pretty sure you can edit the final package that EDP creates.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
