Software Deployment Question


Windows installer Error: 2349

Hi All,

I have developed an application using .net 2.0. . At the time of intallation in window 7 machine its giving me following error message:
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. this may indicate a problem with this package.The error code 2349".

This error is not replicatiing in other Window 7 or XP machiens.

Please provide solution for this problem if any. What it is all about.

I suggest that you create a log file on the machine where you get the error. You can find the reason for failure. Use below command:

msiexec /i <MSI Path> /l*v C:\MyLog.log

BTW, have checked event viewer for the error description?

Thanks for your reply.

I can not access the machine where installer raised this issue.
I have the description of error code.

Error Code : 2349
Error Description: Copy resumed with different info.

But i dont know the solution for this error description. Please put some light on this.

This is normally an indication of a problem with the installation media, probably a scratched CD-ROM/DVD.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes that’s right.

But Installation file is saved in hard disk and initiating installation from there only.

That’s why I am confused Why installer throwing this error at the end of installation process.[:(]
