Windows 7 Mini Setup Wizard
We are prepping for a Windows 7 Deployment using KACE 2100. Currently have a System Image (We have to use this due to some legacy programs still in use) created with a number of post install tasks, which seem to be working great.
However after all the Post Install tasks run and the PC restarts, IT staff then have to run through the Mini Setup Wizard (select time zone, create an account, etc.). Any way to stop this wizard from running?
I have a feeling it has to do with Domain Membership....I have been unable to get that Post Install task to work yet...but I am assuming once I get that piece going, the Mini Setup will not run (it used to work that way in the old XP world).

Is this image that you are deploying syspreped?
If so it sounds like you do not have a sysprep answer file.
Is that correct?

When I was ready to capture the image via KACE, I did run sysprep....not sure if that is what you mean. I am still somewhat confused as to how sysprep integrates with Image Deployment in KACE. During our jumpstart, we were told that we did not have to use Sysprep with Windows 7, which I didn't really believe.
If I am deploying via KACE, how do I make use of a Sysprep Answer file? I did not have an answer file present, when I prepped the image to upload to KACE...is that when it needs to happen?

Whenever your are deploying an image you should sysprep, win 7 include.
I think this maybe a good starting point for you:

After the machine is syspreped with an answerfile you want to capture the image in the kbox.
If you configured your answerfile correctly, you will not be prompted during mini-setup.

I imagine they were referring to scripted installation when they told you that you did not need to Sysprep with Win7.

Ok..so that piece worked (thanks). The new image I created now does not run the Mini Setup which is great. I am having an issue now with the Join Domain Script.
I have the Post install tasks working as follows:
Change Workstation Name
PC Reboot
Join Domain
PC Reboot
It does not seem to try joining the domain, at least not as far as I can tell (looking into logs now). In the script:
join_domain.vbs <my domain> <admin user> <admin password> <primary dns IP (optional)>
All I have to do is update the items in the <> correct? Example in the script I would update it like this:
<kace.com> <user> <userpassword> <DNS>
Assuming I leave the <> in. Anything else that I need to do? Feel like I am missing something...probably something simple.
