Supporting Windows Question

Why are certain Windows 10 machines not reporting custom inventory rules correctly?

09/19/2016 772 views
I have run various custom rules reports on my machines ( about 140 with several OS's). Most of them return useful data, but certain windows 10 machines (especially windows 10 enterprise) do not like the custom rules I have set up and in my report I get empty returns. I thought maybe that windows 10 have moved some of these things that I am trying to report on such as mcafee status, DEP status, bitlocker status, etc, but some Windows 10 machines are reprorting in, while some are not. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Depending on what the CIR searches for (for example an specific registry value applicable to previous versions of Windows) it might not be fully applicable to this OS. You may have to add a new entry to include this.
    • so for example, how would you find the DEP status of a windows 7, 8 and 10 machine?
  • can you add the CIR line you are using to get dep status
  • The one I am using is not working for any of my machines

Yes but Steve's crystal ball is a bit fogged up today so he'll probably need you to show the line you're using, rather than him trying to divine it by psychic powers.
  • Sanity Check: Do you have all Windows OSes selected in the "Supported Operating System" box on the Software Detail page? My box has three separate entries all titled "Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise x64," so this has been a 'gotcha' for me before.
  • Can you post your CIR?
