Where is the KUID stored in Windows?

I have systems with Duplicate names and multiple KUIDs listed.  Where in windows (file or Registry) can I find the KUID on a system?

It's typically stored in the registry. For 64bit systems its at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Dell\Kace

And on 32bit it would be:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Dell\Kace

The value name is MachineID or InstallId

Comments:
  • My system has both MachineID AND InstallID (both values have the same data, what's the difference? - bharding 9 years ago
    • That's normal. I'm not sure what the difference between the two are, but I believe the one that gets reported back to the K1000 is the MachineID - BHC-Austin 9 years ago
      • I always delete both, and let the agent recreate the two - SMal.tmcc 9 years ago
