What is the difference between archiving and purging work requests in KACE 1100?

We are done with our testing phase, and moving into production. We would like to delete all existing work requests, and set the work request numbers back to zero. Is archiving or purging the best method to achieve this objective?

archive will take up space, purge to flush them.
