Vbscript to check InsecureProtocol

Hi,

Is there any vbscript available to check Insecureprotocol ( Eg : telnet, ftp) and Insecureprotocol status (Pass/Fail) without using port query ?

What I am really looking for is to get the output like below and also do not want to use port query to check this ? Can anyone help please ?

InsecureProtocol = telnet, ftp InsecureProtoStatus = Pass, Fail

Too woolly. You need to define how you're aiming to determine what makes a protocol insecure. And what do you want to query? Clients? Servers? Switches? The level of complexity that falls out of that determination will define whether or not you'd get someone to do that for free.

  • This script which I am looking for is for windows machines and Only need to check FTP and Telnet is enabled or not and should print "insecureProtocol = telnet or ftp" . if any of these enabled InsecureProtoStatus should fail and the script should disable insecureprotocol. - SNair 8 years ago

OK so why not simply run a Group Policy that closes the ports on Windows Firewall that these protocols use? You can obviously then apply the GPO in a granular fashion.

  • Actually this check is part of a vbscripting project, that's why looking for script. - SNair 8 years ago
