Using ServiceInstall and ServiceControl
Hello,
I'm using InstallRite. I have a Kernel service "xpm.sys" with registry entries.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\xpm
Display name = xpm
ErrorControl = 0x00000000 (0)
Group = Pointer Port
ImagePath = System32\drivers\xpm.sys
Start = 0x0000003 (3)
Tag = 0x0000002B (43)
Type = 0x0000001 (1)
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\xpm\enum
0 = ACPI\PNPOF13\4&cd4a22c&0
Count = 0x00000001 (1)
NextInstance = 0x00000001 (1)
Now my problem is I don't know where to map the following values in the ServiceInstall and ServiceControl table???
Specially the ImagePath, Group, Tag the keys under "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\xpm\enum"
Anyone who can I help???It'll be much appreciated..

this should helpIt would, John, if kernel services were installable/controllable via the service tables. Unfortunately, they're not. Leween, you need to populate the registry and reboot.
