Users randomly getting Sharepoint error even though we don't use Sharepoint

Over the last few months we've had several users report that they're (seemingly) randomly getting a pop-up saying "Microsoft Sharepoint has stopped working" and the only option is "Close the program". We don't use Sharepoint so I can't figure out what is causing this. It seems like it may be different for different uses, some report getting it randomly throughout the day, some say they get it the first time they open an Office product after logging in. The only place I've seen anything with Sharepoint is in one of the Add-Ons for Outlook...but I've tried disabling this and users still get the error. I was thinking maybe MS Teams as well, but I didn't see anything that stood out to me, and users are getting the error when not using Teams. Is anyone else experiencing this issue and is there any ideas what may cause this? We're on Windows 10, Office 365 and do NOT use Sharepoint

  • We've been seeing a lot of this as well. I believe it has to do with Teams or OneDrive. But, alas we have not figured anything out either. - worzie 1 year ago

This is odd.... maybe check what are the discovered software on some of the affected machine and see if you find any sharepoint component that you can remove by running an script
