Unwanted Delay in Workstation Startup on New GPO
If a workstation encounters a new GPO (Assigned Software Application) and the existing version is the same. Does the software get re-installed or does the workstation perform some other configuration?
In my example, I have many clients nationwide that already have Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition Version 10.1.6.6010 installed via another method. However, when such a workstation encounters the AD managed Symantec AV GPO, the workstation takes 5 minutes before presenting a login prompt. Is there a way to reduce this time?
My goal is to install SAVCE to those workstations that do not have it yet not delay the logon process for all of the others that have the correct version.
Thanks!

Nheim,
I had hoped otherwise. Yes, after turning on logging via:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Diagnostics
Value: AppmgmtDebugLevel
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: 9B (Hexadecimal)
And reviewing the log in:
%Systemroot%\debug\usermode\appmgmt.log
I concur.
Thank you,
Eric
