Uninstall within Installshield

[:@]Good Afternoon,

I am currently using an older version of Admin Studio (8.0 for Zen). I am trying to uninstall previous versions of an application. I know how to accomplish this feat within Wise, however I am befuddled at the moment within Installshield. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks in Advance.

I presume you mean either using the 'RemoveExistingProducts' action, calling MSIExec from a stub EXE or using your own Cutsom Action? Why would it be any different in IS? If the UI is obscuring the route, why not edit the relevant table(s) directly? When all else fails, try 'F1'.

The issue is that I don't know where to locate the REMOVEEXISTINGPRODUCTS action...

That was my point! :) It'll be in exactly the same place. Where that is depends on how your client likes his apps 'upgraded'. Wise puts it right at the very end of the ExecuteImmediate sequence, in line with MS advice. The theory is that if it were placed before InstallFiles, files which would simply be upgraded are in fact removed, wasting time.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
