Uninstall Dameware via Kace script or deployment

Has anyone ever done this. I have been trying to get something to work for a couple of days now. I need to uninstall dameware from many clients and would like to do it via script or deployment.

Thank you in advance.

  • Whats switches are you using? Did you use scripting to launch DWRCS.EXE with the -remove parameter.

If not, try using something liek system explorer to find the package ID in the uninstall registry and use that to remove it. Or check the uninstall registry directly. - nshah 8 years ago
    • Thanks for the info, but we found how to do it in Kace via the configuration policies. It was as simple as selecting the software, telling it which directories to remove and giving it an exe to go after. We set up a couple of these for the different version and it worked like a charm. Thank you again for the responses. - aaronjmurphy 8 years ago
  • Running dwrcs -remove isn't enough, because it leaves the software inventory item behind (registry keys are still present) along with its virtual display and keyboard drivers. We developed a ~200 line PowerShell script, which we deployed with a Managed Installer to remove the agent from about 2000 systems. - taylor-madeak 8 years ago

      • You're not seeing any residual performance issues on your endpoints caused by the Dameware display mirror driver being left behind? Or did your original agent deployment not include that driver? - taylor-madeak 8 years ago
