Unable to install drivers for Latitude E7250 & E7450 on K2000 3.7

Hi Guys,

I'm unable to get my admittedly outdated copy of the K2000, v3.7, to properly image our E7250 and E7450 models, because it can't match the drivers to the model names.  I work in an environment where it's hard to get things updated (I have no permission to do so) and this bug has been fixed in newer versions of the K2000.  Basically my version of KACE can't figure out that there's a 7250 and E7250 and they both use the same drivers.  I recall working with the KACE support once before on this issue.  Can someone tell me how to save my manual edits to K2000\Drivers_postinstall\feed_tools\drvstr.cfg?  I need to remove the mention of E7450_7450 and have it just look for E7450 or E7250 which is what I have.

Thanks,

  • What is the problem with just letting it look for E7450_7450? As long as it finds that location then it should be fine. - Desktop Jockey 6 years ago

Hi Desktop Jockey,

I know for a fact that previous versions of KACE that we had installed including V3.7 SP1 couldn't parse the name E7250_7250.  In the past I'd worked with their support to work around it, but about a year had gone by and I broke things by trying to update the drivers.  Trust me I would have been patching our K2000 more frequently, but wasn't authorized to be updating it (someone else's position).  However, I got permission to update KACE to the final v3.7 revision and then the K2000 was able to apply the correct drivers as needed.

Thanks,
