SQL Server 2000 Virtualisation

Hi!
I was trying to vitualise SQL Server 2000, I was able to successfully virtualise and port the Client site components of SQL Server 2000 like Querry Analyzer, etc and they were able to connect to a server running on the same local network.
But when I was trying to deploy the server components I am not able to do that at all. The server just won't start at the SoftGrid Client.
Can some body please suggest where I could be missing out.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks
Mukul

Hmm, sorry this one I must have missed. I know some guys at Softricity were talking about the potential value to virtualize server software using Softgrid and it looks like you are trying to do it. I cannot say that anyone has tried more than just the client tools so I think you will have to perform traditional troubleshooting with Softricity (filemon, regmon, maybe depenency walker). Services is a new feature in Softgrid 4 and if you are trying SQL server I would try to sequence it with the lastest 4.1.x sequencer at the very least. Services have been a bit of a hit and miss with me on Softgrid 4 but the last implementation I completed did not have many applications with services so you might see some value talking to the support techs about this. The downside is that it could take a few months to get an answer out of them.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
