Software Packaging Req for Android Platforms
Hi Folks,
Just wanted to know that whether anyone has worked on packaging applications that would target Android OS and end users. I am aware that for these we need to create a .apk software packages that would suit android platforms.
Could you let me know that whether any such tools exists for creating of such packages,i am aware that wise packaging tool does give us an option to Build Mobile applications but i haven't worked on it.
Any weblinks would really be appreciated from my end.

LOL...Wise barely supports modern PC OSes properly so forget Android!
I downloaded the Android SDK eons ago. I'm pretty sure there was a packaging option there but, of course, Android apps get installed by Android not via a PC. I think perhaps you have experience of PDA apps which used Windows and Active Sync to install applications.

my point is if one wants to package application for android base platforms and deploy them....what would be the approach....what would be the tools required and how would we deploy the same

Not a clue but, at a guess, I'd say you'd need to set up something like Android Market internally to your organisation or externally, if you're looking for public deployments. But then, for the latter, there's a system called Android Market...
There's a lively Android developer community out there. I think your question would best be directed there.
