Software Library for non-clients

Does a computer have to have the KACE agent installed and have its IP up to date in Inventory to make use of the Software Library.  I wanted to use this to publish the KACE agent to remote users so they did not have to VPN in and download the agent.

  • Yes, just add it as a download but you also have to make sure the users who download the file have rights to do the installation. - nshah 10 years ago

One of the options when you configure a title in the software library is to download. I would assume this wouldn't rely on the client being installed.

  • That might be the issue. I will have to double check. What I ended up doing is making a KB article and attaching the file - JordanNolan 10 years ago
  • Chuck is right. You would set the agent to Download. You would also probably want to use this to configure the install package: https://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/K1000-Configure-KACE-agent-for-Software-Library-download - jknox 10 years ago
