Silent deployment of Corel WinDVD Pro 11

Hi,

there is no support for a silent installation at the Corel website.

This is a msi with a setup.exe. These is controlled by a setup.xml. But this is'nt silent. I get always dialog windows.

Can anyone help me with the silent deployment for SCCM?

Thank you very much!

Is the setup..exe just a bootstrap loader for the MSI?

Can you run the MSI on its own to install, or does it pop up and tell you to run the setup.exe?

Add ISSETUPDRIVEN=1 to your msiexec commnad line to see if that gets around the problem - if it does then you can add that Public Property to your MST with any other configuration options you need to set.

Hope that helps,

  • Thanks for your answer. I think, it is a boot loader. I have a msi in a folder under the setup-folder. I can't use this msi with the ISSETUPDRIVEN option.
When I use the msi-setup, the installation runs in a network folder, I don't know, why. And I don't know, on which way I can change this in the msi, which property. I have Orca, but I don't know, which properties I have to use. Therefore I can't run the msi installation. - Good Guy 11 years ago

I found other corel products used the following silent parameters. I've used these ones for different corel products with the setup.exe

/passive SERIALNUMBER=

/qb!

I'd also try setup.exe /?

  • Thanks for your answer. I tried the setup /? option. but there ist no help included.
I can give all options to the setup.xml. But this isn't a silent installation.
Wait, I testing the setup with /qb! in this moment...
No. Isn't silent. I got the dialogs with the pre-checked answers to submit. :-( - Good Guy 11 years ago

I'm one step from my goal. ;-)

setup /qn is the right option for a silent installation.

The last one is the EULA Agreement for software updates. This comes up, when I start the software.

Anyone a idea?

Thanks!
