SEP 11.x client installation issue

I am trying to push SEP 11.x client as a part of post installation app. I created setup.exe from Symantec EndPoint Protection manager. I uploaded it to the k2100. on the command line I put in setup.exe but it won't install. Do I need to use any command line switches with setup.exe ?

Thanks,

Also have you thought about reading the very well written documentation that comes with your product, which is also available online?

  • Yes sir. I read the documentation that came with the product and googled too. It is not working that is why I am coming to this forum for some help. - deorali 10 years ago
  • Fair enough.
What cmd line are you using to do the install? - rileyz 10 years ago
  • setup.exe - deorali 10 years ago
  • In a CMD line box try setup.exe /S or -s /silent or -silent
It wont show anything so check in the event viewer as it should so logs, or check in the add/remove programs in control panel. - rileyz 10 years ago
  • It looks like UAC is the culprit. I tried to run the setup.exe on the local machine and it is giving me a UAC prompt although I have a batch file already running on k2100 to disable it. So far I never had any issues running other .exe .bat or .msi. - deorali 10 years ago
  • setup.exe /s did the trick. Thank your rileyz - deorali 10 years ago
  • Glad you got it sorted, with your KACE you should have a option to run cmd under the SYSTEM context. I dont know KACE very well, but we have this option in SCCM. - rileyz 10 years ago
