Script - No label - OS selected Win7's and 8's - with only 1 device

Please verify that if I set up a script with no associated device label, Win 7s and 8s OS's highlighted, and 1 Device only computer name listed that the script will only go to the 1 device listed.

I ask because the last script I made started going to most of my clients when I hit the "Run Now" and I'm pretty sure the settings were the same as above just to test 1 machine.

Probably a silly mistake happened, but I just want to reach out to the Ninja buds real quick anyway. :)

  • If you don't have all devices check marked and you didn't select a label then under Devices (drop down), when you select the machine or machines, those are the only ones that should be targeted.

When you select a single machine (Device) you don't need to worry about selecting an OS. That really only comes into play if you are targeting a label and you are narrowing the scope down if it is a high level label like Desktop and you only want to targets the Win 7's or 8s and not 10s. - nshah 7 years ago
  • Yes, thank you. That is exactly how it should work. Just wanted to double check. Thank you both. - davreh99 7 years ago

Based on your description, only the one device should be impacted. Make sure you save the script first then go back into it and perform your "Run Now" function.
