Save and Sync command is now available directly from a RSA for captured images, how do I do it from my SDA to another RSA?

KACE SDA 6.0 added the feature -- "Save and Sync command is now available directly from a RSA for captured images." A significant improvement over the previous versions ability to move captured images between RSAs and SDAs via exporting and importing/copying from obscure network shares on the SDA. So my question is thus, i can now easily sync an image captured on one RSA to the SDA, but how do I then sync that captured image from the SDA to ANOTHER RSA that is not the original RSA it was captured on? Is it even doable yet? Must I resort to the same method we had before this "improvement"? Is this new feature only a minor upgrade to the tedious process it was before? Please help or point me in the right direction if I am missing something. Thanks.

The save and sync on an RSA captured image detail page does not sync the image to the SDA, it just tells the SDA to sync any tasks that you have assigned to that image, instead of having to go to the remote site detail page of that RSA to sync.  Unfortunately you must still import/export images if you want them physically stored on the SDA or another RSA. I would create a new idea on kace.uservoice.com to get some votes going on it.

  • Are you sure? We captured an image to one of our RSAs, did the save and Sync, and now it shows up on my SDA under system images as well as on my RSA... - ahuston@roguecc.edu 5 years ago
    • I can only edit it on the RSA...I really dont even understand the point... - ahuston@roguecc.edu 5 years ago
    • Positive :D The information shows up in the UI, but notice that you can't make changes to the image. The actual image itself did not sync to the SDA, just information about it. The save and sync on the rsa will just sync updated information about the image to the sda, and will bring any additional tasks added from the sda to the rsa. - cserrins 5 years ago
      • Yeah, I'm seeing that. I'm gonna call this a useless/non update. Thanks. - ahuston@roguecc.edu 5 years ago
    • It saves you the step of having to go back to the SDA remote site detail page and initiating the sync from there. With the save and sync on the RSA image detail page, you can add a task and immediately initiate the sync. This was a highly requested feature from many users. But now you have options, so you can still do it the old way if you prefer. - cserrins 5 years ago
