SAPGUI 7.10.5 to 7.10.6

Hi,

I have to upgrade the patch level of SAPGUI 7.1 from patch 5 to patch 6

Patch 5 installation was done using the SAP installation guide with the following command line: NwSapSetup.exe /Package="MY INSTALL" /nodlg

My question is, can i just go further and upgrade it to patch 6 using the new sources files and the same comamnd line? or do i have to do something else like uninstall it first?

Can i just upgrade it using the same method i did for first install?

Many thanks,

Just to make myself a bit more clear.

I installed SAP7.1 patch 5 using the sap deployment method mentionned earlier

Now, i only have the whole installation sources files of SAP 7.1 patch 6
How would you patch SAP from 5 to 6 with the whole sources files?

Many thanks,
Bob

Bob,

There are several methods of doing this. Since 7.10 compilation 2, there is a SAP Automatic Workstation Update feature included; check the documentation for its use. You can also have the update enabled at the Front-End side by enabeling the update-check at the SAP-Logon for each user. This will check the installationserver for newer versions.
Easiest would be to just run the command "NWSAPSetup.exe /UPDATE /silent" from the patched installationserver on the targetted client, just like an original installation.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
