Running AppDeployRepackager

Can some one advise.....

I have downloaded the 'Repackager' Windows Installer Package and placed it on a network share. However when I run it from the target machine it tries to install the package on the machine. How can I set it so that I can run the AppDeploy Repackager from a network share?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

I am a new user too and I am checking out the Forums before giving it a shot. I presume (but haven't tried it yet) that you physically install the app on the network share and then run the repackager exe file from that share on your target machine. So in my case, I have a server called utils and a share on it called deploy that I use for all software installs. I simply ran the msi file on that server and told the installer to put the app in the deploy folder. Now when I map the share on my target machine I can run the app from there. Make sense?

Martin is correct, if you are doing this and getting a prompt what you may be seeing is a UAC prompt. The repackager intentionally calls UAC to get the elevated permissions needed to do a proper scan of the computer.
