I have one msi which is adding one entry to HKCR\<AppName>\Shell as "default" only when msi is run in repair mode. Since this registry is affecting the functionality i want to get rid of this.

There are no conditionalize components in the MSI and the registry itself is absent in the MSI.

Any views on how and why this registry is getting created.

Does this registry key that you had mentioned doesnot occur when you have started using the application?
Or does this happen in the case that you had installed and trying to repair without checking for anything?
