Remote site appliance says it can connect with main appliance but also says there is a problem
An error occurred while communicating with the Systems Deployment Appliance. Please verify that the Systems Deployment Appliance is online and the Remote Site Appliance has been configured as an extender.
This has been configured and the linking hash should have worked. The RSA can ping the main appliance so I don't understand why there is an error message that it can't connect. The RSA is not showing up as a remote site in my main appliance either. I have rebuilt the RSA VM twice now. Both Appliances are running the same version (9.0.146) Please advise. Thanks.

In other instances, when I linked the RSA, it just showed up. In this case, I guess I needed to "Add New" and select the correct option from the dropdown.

first thing you should check if you really have linked them together.
And then the connection between both needs to be allowed (ie port 22 between both)
