QuickTime 7.6.4 Properties issue

I am trying to package 7.64.2.
I am able to install the QuickTime.qtp file into the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\QuickTime., however, when the application launches the application overwrites this file. Is there a way to ensure the original file is retain without changing the file to read only which could create problems in deployment.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

it needs to go into each users' profile
there have been other posts covering this for other versions.
also this stupid version requires apple application support so be aware.
somebody called them crapple, I thought that was funny.

Hi Nico,
the problem is most likely not the launch of the application, but a custom action during the installation.
This is a rather old problem and known for quite a time.

Thanks for your reply aoglimor

Indeed, Crapple is the word!

I am able to send this file into The User Profiles, thanks to other posts. But Once the file is installed and then I run the application, the file gets overwritten.
