Question about Automating Security System Configuration via API

Hi,

We are managing a growing number of smart security devices across multiple office locations — including IP cameras, smart locks, and motion sensors — all integrated into a unified cloud-based security platform. With over 500 devices deployed, manually updating configurations or pulling logs from each unit is becoming unmanageable.

With the rising trend of centralized security management and remote automation, I’m exploring ways to use the system's REST API for automating routine updates (e.g., firmware upgrades, access schedules) and collecting data for compliance audits.

What’s the best approach to automate bulk configuration changes in a multi-device security system using API scripting? Has anyone used PowerShell or Python effectively for this purpose?
