Query for username SMS 2003

I am trying to find out if there is a way to Query for a computer name by using the user name?

I know in the predefined queries you use the user name to locate the computer name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh that one is kinda tricky. You have to enable the WMI MOF entry to log classes that are not turned on by default. I think you want to look at Win32_NetworkLoginProfile. And if I am correct on a shared workstation it you should retrive several users from the PC. The key will be trying to figure out who is the primary user of the PC. The field of NumberOfLogons might help. I know this is not a spoon fed just do this type answer but this should point you in the right direction.

In any case this is a brutal report to write where you will have to accept that there will be errors in the data. I think that is something most SMS admins do not accept is the fact that there will always be some degree of error in pretty much any report. (WMI broken, SMS client issues, servers issues etc...)

Also if you are going to modify the MOF file for the site please test it first. A bad MOF file can cause chaos.

Try the 'Last user logon' attribute. You'll find its accurate 90% of the time.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
