Purging Closed tickets

I am looking for a good way to purge a large amount of closed tickets from our K1000 running 8.0. 
What would be the best method for accomplishing this?

You should not delete them, since this may be a legal problem.
A better way would archiving the tickets (you can still search for them but in the normal DB they are no more avaiable)
Service Desk |Configuration |Service Desk Settings  > Check the box Ticket Archival
Then you can enable Archival or Deletion under the Queue Settings.
