Problem with remote assistances

Hello,

We have most user set to be power users, so they don't install software. When user need software installed we would remote assistance into user's pc and then add administrator's user name and password. Some PC it will allow us, but other we see a blank screen with two squares in it. We would have to do a remote desktop to enter password..

Any suggestions.

  • why not using PsExec from Sysinternals Suite or use KACE to install software for you. - aragorn.2003 9 years ago
  • Its easier to remote in for one user, plus different software each time. - Kdebiasse 9 years ago
  • There is an option in Remote assistance, to NOT put the UAC box into the users session. I had that once, its not the easiest thing to find, when you see it you will wonder how you missed. - Badger 9 years ago
  • Can you tell me where and how to get there. someone else setup our system. - Kdebiasse 9 years ago
  • msra /offerra , connect to the device, then there should be some options that should like UAC prompt, I will have to look at a diff env to help you out. - Badger 9 years ago

If the environment is domain, you can use windows internal remote assistance (aka. msra).
I'm currently using, and i do non intrusive remote access to users computers, using remote desktop protocol and see the current user screen, not new session.

ps: A brazilian guy trying to help, not to speak english =D

We have windows remote assistance on our Inventor list of PCs

I want it kow where I can change the settings on that dropdown list. Or do I have to change all user UAC.
