problem with MST

[:'(]
hi , i have this application called Analyst 1.4.3 .Its vendor MSI. This application has another three MSI(hotfixes MSI) and these MSI exists in different subfolders.l.I tried to add them using nested installation but prompts an error saying the installation must be completed and only the tranform applied to main msi gets installed.

i tried using Batch file and wrapper but off no use.

Any suggestion

Hi,
Best way would be, to analyze the Hotfix MSI's and look what they do. If it's not that much, i would integrate the changes to the main MSI.
If this isn't possible, call the Hotfixes after the main MSI through your deployment solution.
With a batch file, you would have to use the start /wait command to call msiexec.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

i could install all the MSI through batch file but now another problem occurs . when i launch the desktop shortcut in user mode it prompts an error regarding security configuration. when i configure this security in admin mode it works fine in user. i tried to capture these registires and put them through MST. But these configuration changes doen't not get captured.

Any suggestions?

Hi,
where are these Regkeys lying? HKLM or HKCU?
If they are in HKLM, you need to open the security on them.
If they are in HKCU, you need to self heal that stuff for each user or put them intentionally into the profile with an Active Setup entry.

Hi,
use 'handle' http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/SystemInformation/Handle.mspx to see which process is accessing the file.
After that, terminate the process.
Have a look at the file permissions.
