Problem on Upgrade

[font="trebuchet ms"]Hi,
I have installed the earlier version of my appl. (v1.1). Now, when i try to install v1.2, it is not upgarding. Throwing an error 'Another version of this product is already installed'.
I have updated the version no, changed the package code.

Am i missing something?

Note: The msi name of the previous version is <Appl Name> 1.1.msi and that of the new one is [font="trebuchet ms"]<Appl Name> 1.2.msi.. Hope this may not be the problem.

[font="trebuchet ms"]Adding a few points on my problem.

1. The msi(<applname>1.2.msi) is wrapped with set up.exe. So, when i click on setup.exe, first it says 'set up will perform an upgrade of <Appl.Name>1.1.msi. Do you want to continue?' When i continue with the installation, it is throwing an error in between - 'Error 1316.A Network error occured while attempting to read from the file <Appl.Name(with path)>1.1.msi'.

I am not sure why this is searching for 1.1.msi in the location of 1.2 msi.

2. When i install the 1.2 msi from cmd prompt using msiexec, it is throwing the error 'Another version of this product is already installed'.

Any suggestions?

Using the Upgrade table requires a major upgrade and therefore new ProductCode.
For minor upgrades you need to re-install the package.

Am i missing something?

What does a verbose log tell you?

[font="trebuchet ms"]This is not actually referring to the network source. This is pointing to the location (SourceDir) where i am installing the latest msi(1.2). The installer is searching 1.1.msi in the location of the 1.2.msi..
