Post install task to install WSUS update file

I'm sure there are numerous ways to update the OS after installation (scripted or image deploy).  What I want to know is - if I use WSUS to download updates to Win 7  and package them into the executable for the USB drive, can a Post Install task be created to install these updates?  It would be nice to just have to update the post install task every couple of weeks then when an image is deployed the updates are installed.

Thanks.  Russ

  • you can work with WSUS Offline: http://www.wsusoffline.net/ - aragorn.2003 9 years ago
  • I guess I should have said WSUSOffline to begin with. I want to use that program to get the updates and somehow put them into a Post-install task to update the image after pulling from K2000.
We are moving away from WSUS as the server for updating OS's and will use the K1000 when it is setup. - rjobe 9 years ago

you can make them check into the sus server after you join the domain as a post task and update also.
