Please share your view, for applying shim

Hi,
In recent applications we are facing strange behaviour, in msi packages.
In source, when we launch shortcut, then we get prompt for shim on Windows7 machines, but if we launch same shortcut from package, then we do not get any prompt, and shortcut launches successfully.
This is actually good for us, as it is saving our work, but ideally what should we do? Which will be the best approach?

Great Finding - Right click on shortcut=> go to properties => click on advanced => if run as admin option is checked then, shortcut asks for UAC, which is source behaviour, but If we package it then shortcut installed by msi does not have that option checked, and that's why UAC does not come, in packaged application.

But then you may need to check if it creates issues for advertisement of the MSI.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
