All of a sudden patching has stopped working in version 5.4. the size of all the patch files is zero.  Last patch update status has the message Error importing metadata for signature files. When I look at the patch log is states scr_content.lst is empty SCR

did not return metadata info. Exiting

I have deleted all patches, tried to redownload and also followed some of the suggestions that I found on this website.

Nothing seems to be working and after the upgrade to 5.4 it was working but seems to have stopped completely. 

Anyone else have this problem or a suggestion on how to fix without having to open a ticket with Kace?

There's a hotfix for people running 5.4 on the kace appliance and patching breaks. I can't find the link at the moment, but I remember support sending me a link.

  • You will need to contact Support in order to get a Hotfix. They will also determine if your specific error will require the fix or not.
  • Yeah - support can patch you up with a patching patch.

it is depending on which version you are running. with 5.4.70402 there is indeed an issue with patching which can be patched. But if you use this version, I really suggest to go to 5.4.76847. Be also shure that the agents are also on most current level, because there is sometimes an issue if you have outdated agents (esp. the 5.3 agents in 5.4 version)

  • The agents are on the correct version and this was working but it just suddenly stopped. I will put in a ticket with Kace. I was hoping this was something I could fix myself. Recently it has been taking them up to two weeks to get anything fixed that they have to do.
