Patches Not Deploying - Manual Patching

I am trying to show that our patching process is not accurately working within KACE. What I am trying to show is that by manually installing a missing patch, I should see the list of missing patches for a machine reduce as soon as an inventory process is run. However, I do not see the amount of needed patches go down in the Device Detail > Security > Patching Detect/Deploy Status section. Is this area dynamic based upon inventory results or only driving by the Detection process? Will a report created show the same as the device details until a Detect process is run?

Looking for any suggestions to show how a process would best work when the patching mechanism seems to be failing within KACE.

you probably need to run a detect so that the agent can detect that the patch has now been installed, albeit manually, before the stats change. The data coming in via the agent is not dynamic every time for every area i.e. patching

  • correct, make sure you are running a Detect Job against that device, then run an Inventory job...
