Oracle

Hi! I'm trying to create a silent installation for Oracle Enterprise Manager 9i. I managed to come up with a result, but now i found out that i must installl my MSI on a machine already containig Oracle 8.1.7. Does anyone know if this is possible? Can the original Oracle applications (8.1.7 and 9.2) coexist on the same machine? I already found out that when I try to install my MSI I get a problem with the ODBC driver (an installation error). I'd like to know if I should try to fix it or just forget about the ideea of having two Oracle instances on the same machine. Pls. respond, thank you.

Do you have to use MSI? Under http://itninja.com/link/chapter-3 you will find a solution. If you are forced to run MSIs you may be able to run a custom action from the MSI.

Ciao, Walter
