Office 2000 Multi Languape Pack Problem
Hi, I've got a problem and was wondering if anyone has seen this before or has a solution.
We use Office 2000 (don't ask) across all our divisions, this requires the build to be in English, French, Spanish, etc....
To do a Spanish build we install the base office English application using the ORK to create an MST from DATA1PRO.MSI. We then use the multi language pack to install the langauge version, again using the ORK to create an MST from LANGPACK.MSI . As standard we install Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a selection of the Office tools. We do not let users have MS Access unless they require it. The problem we have is if we give a Spanish user office (using DATA1PRO.MSI English base, then the Spanish overlay using LANGPACK.MSI), we can then give the user the English version of MS Access using the DATA1ACC.MSI, however, to give the user the Spanish overlay of access we need to install using LANGPACK.MSI which we can't as the windows install says you have already installed LANGPACK.MSI and therefore doesn't do it.
Is it trying to run the MSI with the previous MST or is it just saying "You've already installed this MSI so can't install it again!!"
If it's the MST issue, presumably somewhere in the registry it says if using this MSI then use this MST, anyone know where this is?
Or any other suggestions as to how I can get round this problem?
Thanks

hi mcvpjd3,
we basically do the the same just for the German version, but there should be not much of a difference....
we install word, excel, powerpoint...
then we install the MUI
when the mui setup is done, all language files (including access files like acmain9.chm)
are sitting in the Office/1031 folder (for GER)
then on request we install access (english)
done
we use zenworks for the distribution and "chained" the apps, so even if somebody just needs access,
the MUI will be installed.
so change the MUI to install all spanish language files and you should be all set.
regards
Martin
